Fulldome Festival 2026 – Opening Day
Zwei Jubiläen, ein Blick in die Zukunft: Das Fulldome Festival feiert 20 Jahre kreativer Experimente im immersiven Medium – und gleichzeitig würdigen wir 100 Jahre Planetarium, den Ursprung einer Kultur, die Wissenschaft und Kunst in einzigartiger Form verbindet.
Am Mittwoch um 15:00 Uhr öffnet das Festival seine Kuppel erneut für eine neue Generation immersiver Filmkunst. Gezeigt werden die besten internationalen Fulldome-Produktionen des vergangenen Jahres – visionäre Arbeiten, die neue Maßstäbe für filmische Räume und mediale Wahrnehmung setzen.
Filmschaffende, Entwicklerinnen, audiovisuelle Künstlerinnen und Publikum begegnen sich hier, um das Medium Film neu zu denken: als Raum, als Erfahrung, als Bühne für Licht und Klang.
Mit dem Eröffnungstag beginnt auch der Wettbewerb um den Janus Award, die international renommierte Auszeichnung, die künstlerische Innovation und technische Exzellenz im Fulldome feiert.

Two anniversaries, one shared vision of the future. The Fulldome Festival celebrates 20 years of creative experimentation in the immersive medium – while also honoring 100 years of the Planetarium, the birthplace of a culture that unites science and art in extraordinary ways.
On Wednesday at 15:00, the festival dome opens once again to a new generation of immersive filmmaking. Experience the finest international Fulldome productions of the past year – visionary works that challenge cinematic form and expand the boundaries of perception.
Filmmakers, developers, audiovisual artists, and audiences come together to rethink what cinema can be: a space, an experience, a stage for light and sound.
The Opening Day also marks the start of the competition for the Janus Award – the most prestigious accolade in the global Fulldome community, celebrating artistic innovation and technical excellence.
